China's LED display industry has achieved a leapfrog development from weak to strong, from "following" to "running side by side" and then to "leading". What is the reason?
1. Screen Enterprise
Before the 1990s, participants in the international LED display industry were mainly concentrated in Europe, the United States and Japan, and my country's LED display industry was still in its infancy.
In those years, the core technologies of liquid crystal display and LED display were monopolized by foreign countries for a long time. Liquid crystal panels ranked after integrated circuits, crude oil and iron ore, becoming one of the four largest commodities imported by China in terms of total value. "Lack of chips and screens" has become a problem that we urgently need to solve.
After entering the 21st century, my country's LED display industry entered a new stage of development, and China's new display companies have made efforts to catch up with the world's advanced technology. Many of China's leading companies in the industry were born in this period. Since then, from upstream LED chip research and development, to midstream LED packaging, and then to downstream LED applications, my country's LED industry chain has become more and more complete.
2.Screen Policy
In addition to the "self-efforts" of enterprises, the rapid rise of China's LED display industry is inseparable from national policies.
National and local government policies have greatly promoted the rapid development of the LED display industry. These policies have provided support in terms of funds, technology, talents, etc., creating a good external operating environment for LED companies.
LED technology has been included in national plans many times. In 2003, the National Semiconductor Lighting Project was launched, which was an important milestone for China's LED industry to move towards industrialization.
During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, the Ministry of Science and Technology deployed key projects and supported the third-generation semiconductor materials and semiconductor lighting as one of the development priorities of key projects. This deployment further laid a solid foundation for my country to develop from a major producer, consumer and exporter of semiconductor lighting products to an industrial power.
During the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" period, Micro-LED was fully deployed from the national to the local level, with chips and displays being the main projects.
I believe that China, which has already broken through the "screen" bottleneck, can continue to "display" the future with its "screen" strength!
